Overview

Kaziranga National Park in Assam is the world's largest habitat for the great one-horned rhinos. It is India's biggest bio-diversity treasure, and a UNESCO's world heritage site. A visit to Kaziranga National Park is in the bucket list of almost every Indian. And a visit to Meghalaya is unlike anywhere else in India because it gives you a multitude of experiences within a very short span of time. So, if you're planning to head to the beautiful hill state anytime soon, here's a well-planned itinerary to kick your Separating the Assam valley from the neighbouring state of Bangladesh, Meghalaya—also known as the abode of clouds—is worth visiting for several reasons. This beautiful mountain state with its pine vegetation and snow clad peaks is home to some of the most fascinating waterfalls, mysterious caves, unusual flora and fauna, and a unique tribal culture. It also boasts of having two of the wettest places on earth within its territorial boundaries—Cherrapunji and Mawsynram.

Itinerary

  • Guwahati to Kaziranga

    Drive to Kaziranga National Park

    Fly to Guwahati from your respective city and then drive to Kaziranga, which is about 191 km (4 hours). Book a morning flight that lands in Guwahati GAU around 11:30AM.

  • Kaziranga to Shilong

    Kaziranga Safari and Drive Explore Shillong

    Morning Safari in National Park and drive to Shillong, which is about 169 km (4:40 hours). We will stop at Borapani Lake, it’s also named Umiam lake and is one of the biggest lakes in Shillong. Evening free to relax and explore. Finish your day with an authentic Khasi dinner in Police Bazar (Hotel Shilong Centre Point  Or Similar)

  • Shillong to Cherrapunjee

    Roadtrip & Party Night

    Located about 1.5 to 2 hours west of Shillong, Cherrapunji—better known as Sohra—is one of the wettest places on earth. Enroute enjoy activities like zip lining, cave tour, few picturesque waterfalls and post lunch reach Cherrapunjee in the evening. Overnight at cottage (Cherra cafe)

  • Double decker root Bridge

    Double Decker Route Bridge Trek

    After breakfast, trek to the Living Root Bridge. The trek normally takes two hours. The route is replete with small village where one can relax and explore rural life. One of the major attractions here are the living roots bridges. A slightly tough trek leads you to these bridges, which are naturally made from roots of trees braided together. They are set to grow across the river, thus making life easier for locals. There are a number of these root bridges that travellers can trek to and each of them looks like something out of a fantasy novel. However, there is another Living root Bridge, which has “Two Tiers”.This amazing bridge is a two-tier living Root Bridge (made of the roots of a living tree), connecting a chasm with a pool of jade water below. The two tiers measure 59ft and 83 ft in length respectively. The trek to this double decker is tough but worth the pains. Overnight at cottage (Cherra cafe)

  • Dawki

    Mawlynnong (Asia's cleanest village)

    Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based ecotourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. Stream Side Guest House

  • Dawki River

    Mawlynnong to Shillong

    Wake up early and take a walk around the beautiful village with its hundred-year-old Church to see how everyone, from kids to elders, strive to keep even the tiniest bit of trash off the streets and everywhere else other than the dustbins. After breakfast head towards India – Bangladesh border at Dawki and experience the transparent waters of the Umngkot river. We will go for a boat ride on the crystal clear waters of the Umngot river. Once back in Shillong, explore Police Bazar in the evening and enjoy the wide range of street – food there. (Hotel – Centre Point Or Similar)

    Bid Adieu

    Breakfast: 8:30am Airport Transfer, Facebook requests, share-it, airdrop. Three hours drive. Please book your air tickets after 1pm.

In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason/s we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows:

  • 60 days prior to arrival: 50% of the Tour / service cost
  • 45 days prior to arrival: 70% of the Tour / service cost
  • 30 days prior to arrival: No Refund
