  • DAY 01 (02ND DEC): DIMAPUR

    Fly to Dimapur

    Meet and greet at Dimapur airport (You can fly directly from your respective city or come down to Delhi to take a direct flight. We will do lunch on our way to hotel and check in in the hotel. After settling in your vehicle, we will drive to take a short walk in the market of Dimapur – There is nothing quite like the sensory experience of a trip to a market. The sights, sounds and smells assault the senses in a way where visitors are most likely to get a glimpse into how the locals live and interact in everyday life. There are a number of local markets in Dimapur where you can find great local produce, authentic food, and enjoy soaking up the atmosphere of laidback Naga life. Later visit the ruins of Kachari kingdom. Overnight

  • DAY 02 (03RD DEC): DIMAPUR – KOHIMA (70 KMS / 3½ HRS)

    Transfers from Dimapur to kohima

    After an early breakfast check out from hotel and drive towards Kohima. After official visit we shall visit the World War Cemetery – constructed in memory of the officers and men who made supreme sacrifices during World War II. On each grave there are beautiful epitaphs engraved in bronze. _The famous inscription written on the War Memorial stone reads “WHEN YOU GO HOME TELL THEM OF US AND SAY, FOR YOUR TOMORROW WE GAVE OUR TODAY”. Overnight in Kohima. Evening is free to explore on your own.

  • DAY 03 (04TH DEC): KOHIMA

    Visit the Festival

    This morning we shall visit and photograph one of the most fascinating festivals of Nagaland – the Hornbill festival, where the various tribes of Nagaland get together to showcase their customs and traditions. Spend entire day spent at Kisama village – the location of Hornbill Festival (program as per festival schedule). Evening we shall visit the Hornbill Night carnival (timing 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM). Colorful stall adored with sparkling lights, each one has something unique to offer. Return to hotel and overnight It was in the year 2000, the State Government of Nagaland desirous of promoting tourism embarked upon an ambitious project to exploit the cultural assets of Nagaland, through a weeklong festival to coincide with the celebrations of Nagaland Statehood Day on 1stDecember. Thus the inception of the Nagaland Hornbill Festival is so named is collective reverence to the bird enshrined in the cultural to espouse the spirit of unity in diversity. Today this festival has become one of the largest celebrations of the indigenous warrior of Nagaland, where thousands of tourists from different counties are being attracted. Even if tremendous modernity have entered into their lives, but the well preserved rich tradition, their unique heritage and customs, legacy, are being displayed in this 10 days converge of cultural, dance and sporting bash.

  • DAY 04 (05TH DEC): KOHIMA – DAY TRIP TO KHONOMA (20 KMS / 1 HR)

    Khonoma Village

    This morning after breakfast we shall visit Hornbill festival ground. Later afternoon, we drive to Khonoma – the green village. Khonoma is an Angami-tribe warrior village that is known for its battles with the English and for its leading role in the Naga freedom struggle. In recent years Khonoma has become famous for its community-based conservation projects and eco-friendly tourism initiatives. Return to hotel. Overnight.

  • DAY 05 (06TH DEC): KOHIMA – DAY TRIP TO JAKHAMA VILLAGE (20 KMS / 1 HR) & TOUPHEMA (40 KMS / 1½ HRS)

    Festival Ground

    Morning we shall visit Hornbill festival ground. Later visit Jakhama Village to witness the multifaceted Naga way of life. Walk through in the village takes you through paddy fields and the riverbanks where you can watch the Angamis fish and farm in their traditional ways, as they have done for hundreds of generations. As we weave through the village, we stop at local pigsties, fisheries and even a snail farm. Also see walls of houses riddled with bullet marks from World War II. Fishing and farming activities may not be active during dry season. If time permits, we shall visit Touphema Heritage Village.

  • DAY 06 (07TH DEC): KOHIMA – DIMAPUR (70 KMS / 3½ HRS)

    Transfer to Airport

    After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Dimapur airport to board flight for your onward journey. TOUR ENDS
