Itinerary

  • Overnight Journey

    Delhi to Shimla

    We take an overnight Volvo Semi Sleeper bus from Delhi (Kashmere Gate) to Shimla.

     

  • Arrival in Shimla

    The group arrives in Shimla by an overnight bus from Delhi. Our
    transportation service will meet you at the bus stop, and we start our
    journey to Kotgarh.

    We will stop for breakfast and fresh -n- up on the way. You may relish the
    morning mountain views from Shimla, Kufri and Narkanda on the way.

    We rest for a while, post check-in and later go visit the Tani Jubbar Lake
    and enjoy the serenity of this hidden forest lake. We may have lunch here.

    The evening is followed by a visit to the apple orchard and bonfire at the
    cottage.

     

    Overnight stay at Deodar Cottage

  • Sangla

    Today, from the Shimla district, we venture into Kinnaur district of
    Himachal. Passing through Rampur – (the trade hub on ancient Silk Route) soon we enter into Kinnaur Valley. Transition in terrain from dense green deodar forests to Satluj Basin and Rocky hills surrounded by snowclad mountains cannot go unnoticed.

    After 35 to 40 kms drive from Rampur, you will be entering into
    Kinnaur District at Chaura.
    Change in terrain from green forests to Rocky Mountains will not go
    unnoticed. (Although the entire route is worth photography) You may stop for a small photography session:
    • At a natural cave on the highway after 1 km from Chaura.
    • On Solding bridge (a long bridge on Solding Stream near Tranda Mata
    Temple)

    We reach the Sangla / Batseri (It is also known as Baspa Valley since Baspa River flows through this valley.) by late afternoon. Post freshen up we all go for an evening walk to Village Batseri, this is modern village proto- type in Kinnaur district (Jungle trail) (30 minutes on side)
    Evening at leisure by the river at the resort.

    Overnight stay at Sattva Pine Resort or Similar

  • Sangla/ Batseri

    Post  our breakfast we shall drive to Kamru fort (The Kamru Fort is an ancient fortification that dates back to the 15th century and was built by the rulers of the Kinnaur region made of wood and stone. The fort is also known for its rich cultural heritage and is home to several ancient Hindu temples, including the Kamakhya Devi Temple).

    Later, We shall drive to explore the natural beauty of village Raksham and Chitkul. You may indulge exploring the Chitkul village and spot Bhoj Pattra (Himalayan Birch) trees on left bank of Baspa River in Chitkul.

    Optional Recommended: Packed Lunch at Mastrang meadows between Raksham and Chitkul (3 Km near Raksham) OR Lunch in Chitkul

    Evening we come back to Batseri and enjoy the leisure time at the resort.

    Overnight stay at Sattva Pine Resort or similar.

  • Kalpa

    Post breakfast we shall drive to Kalpa. One may enjoy the view of Kinner Kailash mountain range (and Shivling) from Kalpa. At Kalpa, we shall drive to the Rogi Village (6 km) on Old Hindusthan Tibet road. The drive offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
    Later, we shall go for walk/ drive to (Chinne) Village and visit Local deity temple – Monastery and Fort.

    After noon we start our drive back to Kotgarh and stop for Lunch after
    Ralli at Recho Cafe on the bank of River Satluj.

    Evening at Kotgarh Deodar Cottage.

  • Bus Stop Drop

    Today, we may have a relaxed morning and start our drive to Shimla.

    We may visit, Hatu tample on the way
    OR
    Plan to enjoy the colonial footprint in Shimla main town, before we board
    our bus to Delhi.

  • What are female only travel groups by Jugni?
  • Jugni is a women only travelling company based in India. We started the journey of exploring with solo female travellers in 2014. We discovered that there are adventurous women who want to travel across the globe. We organise trips for women in India and abroad.
  • What are solo travel groups?
  • Solo travel groups are organised groups of solo travellers who want to explore a place among the company of fellow travellers. Solo travel groups provide you with a safety net and allow you to be free of planning the itinerary and figuring out the stays.
  • What is the general group size?
  • Our general group size is 12-14. We like to keep our groups small, allowing us to cater to everyone’s needs and offer a personalised services to all our solo women travellers. There are a few destinations that we have been travelling for many years and have know the place inside out. For such places, our group size might be 18-20 travellers..
  • Is there any age bar?
  • We do not have any age bar. If you are an adult and want to join us on our explorations, you can be part of our Jugni family. We have seen 22 year old gel up with 60 year olds, it just your spirit that matters.
  • I have never travelled solo and feeling a little anxious about it, will I be able to do it?
  • Most of our travellers are first time solo female travellers. It is completely natural to feel a little anxious before the trip but we can assure you that this will be an experience of your lifetime where you will make friendships for life.
  • How do we ensure safety and security for our solo women travellers?
  • We understand how important safety is for female travellers, hence we take every measure to ensure our trips offer a safe and secure on every adventure you take on. We do personal background check of every agent involved and hand pick each hotel by personally visiting them.
  • How are the group dynamics on trips?
  • Most of our travellers travel solo, while some do join us with their female friends. We understand every traveller is unique but we also believe that forming bonds in a group becomes easier when you are going through an experience together. Our accommodations are on twin sharing basis, unless specifically requested, which we allot randomly. This allow solo travellers to form bonds from the start.
  • Is Visa fee and flights are inclusive?
  • Since we have travellers joining us from different parts of the country and abroad, including flights and visa is not possible. But we do provide end to end assistance in flight bookings and also help with filling of visa forms without any extra cost.
  • What kind of accommodations do we stay at?
  • Our accommodations are selected after thorough research by our team. Most of the properties are 4-star hotels or boutique stays. These hotels also become an experience at the location. We try and select the best properties for our solo female travellers in the area. In the rural and remote areas, we try to book authentic regional homestays, which add to the experience of the location. In these homestays, due their remote locations, some things might be unavailable.
  • What if I want to cancel my trip?
  • In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason/s we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows: - Booking amount & Tickets: (Non Refundable) - 60 days prior to arrival: 50% of the Tour / service cost will be deducted - 45 days prior to arrival: 70% of the Tour / service cost will be deducted - 30 days prior to arrival: No Refund
  • Is single occupancy room available?
  • Our standard practice is a twin sharing accommodation, which allows solo travellers to gel in the group. Although upon special request and an extra charge we can arrange for single occupancy as well.
  • Can I bring my child along?
  • We do allow children above the age of 12 on our trips and their trip cost is same as the traveller’s. Each case is different and the final decision is taken after considering all factors of the location and the kind of trip.
  • Can I trust Jugni as a women only travel company?
  • Jugni has been on this journey of helping solo female travellers explore the world for 10 years. We have a 5/5 rating on Facebook and 4.9/5 rating on google with over 800 reviews. To establish trust we disclose everything to our travellers before the trip and no hidden costs are later levied. CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason/s we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows:

  • Booking amount & Tickets: (Non Refundable)
  • 60 days prior to arrival: 50% of the Tour / service cost will be deducted
  • 45 days prior to arrival: 70% of the Tour / service cost will be deducted
  • 30 days prior to arrival: No Refund
