Best International Trips for Indian Women: The Jugni Travel Index™ 2026
The Jugni Travel
Index™ 2026
A practical decision guide for Indian women choosing their next international trip.
Built from 12+ years of operating women-only group trips, 5,000+ women travellers and first-hand experience across 50+ countries. Not a ranking. Not a sales page. Our observations.
Most travel lists answer the wrong question.
They rank destinations by popularity, by Instagram reach, by hotel star ratings. None of that helps an Indian woman decide whether a destination is right for her — right now, given her food preferences, her walking capacity, her visa situation, and her travel confidence.
Jugni Travel has operated women-only group trips since 2014. Over twelve years, 5,000+ women have shared what worked, what didn’t, what surprised them, and what they wish someone had told them before they left. This index is built from that body of experience.
It is not scientific. It is not algorithmic. It is editorial — the honest assessment of two people who have built and operated these trips, talked to every traveller, and learned from every journey.
Popularity ≠ Suitability
Japan is one of the most beloved destinations on earth. It also has some of the most challenging food conditions for Indian vegetarians. That nuance disappears in conventional travel content.
Food is not a secondary concern
For a large percentage of Indian women travellers, vegetarian food access directly determines trip confidence and enjoyment. We treat it as a primary metric, not a footnote.
We have operated these routes
Every destination in this index is one where Jugni has taken Indian women. We’ve booked the hotels, navigated the airports, and heard what worked and what didn’t.
A narrowing tool, not an inspiration board
This index is designed to help you decide. If you already know what matters to you, it should help you find your answer in minutes.
Methodology
Five inputs go into every destination assessment. No algorithm. No scraped reviews. No third-party data.
Jugni Operating Experience
Only destinations where Jugni has led real group departures are assessed. If we haven’t taken Indian women there ourselves, it is not in this index.
Traveller Feedback
Post-trip reviews, WhatsApp conversations, and in-trip observations from 5,000+ travellers form the primary data source for food, comfort, safety, and surprise factors.
Operational Complexity
Visa processes, flight routes from India, hotel reliability, on-ground logistics, and how predictably a trip can be delivered to a high standard.
Indian Women’s Lens
Walking intensity, vegetarian access, solo-woman street safety, heat and altitude tolerance, cultural comfort, and suitability for different ages are evaluated independently.
Editorial Review
Final assessments are written by Nitesh Chauhan and Tamanna Maggo based on personal experience managing and leading these trips. All verdicts are their own.
Meet The Experts
Two people. Twelve years. 5,000+ women. These assessments are theirs.
Nitesh has designed and led women-only international group trips since 2014. He is responsible for destination selection, itinerary architecture, hotel strategy, and the overall framework of this index.
His assessments focus on destination strategy, value-for-money, photography potential, first-timer suitability, and the things that are only visible after leading a route multiple times.
Tamanna manages all traveller experience at Jugni. She is the primary voice on hotel quality, food comfort, safety logistics, and the emotional dimension of group travel for Indian women.
Her vegetarian travel assessments, built from personal experience and traveller feedback, are the most detailed in this index and address a gap that mainstream travel content almost universally ignores.

Destination Profiles
Field notes, expert verdicts, and practical intelligence for each destination — drawn from trips Jugni has actually operated.
Thailand
Thailand was one of Jugni’s earliest international destinations and it remains one of our most returned-to routes. Watching the lanterns float over Chiang Mai during Yi Peng is one of those moments where the group goes completely silent — no one reaches for their phone. That silence tells you everything. Thailand doesn’t shout. It shows. After eleven years of bringing Indian women here, our advice is simple: let go of what you think Thailand is, and let it show you what it actually is.
Vietnam
Women run Vietnam. Walk through any market, any restaurant, any guesthouse — the person in charge is almost always a woman. For Jugni groups, that resonates at a level that’s hard to explain in advance. There’s something affirming about arriving in a country and seeing your own gender leading everything. Vietnam is also the destination that has produced some of our most extraordinary photographs — especially at dawn in Hoi An, when the crowds haven’t arrived yet and the light comes through the silk lanterns at an angle that doesn’t exist anywhere else on earth.
Mauritius
We have never had a Jugni traveller return from Mauritius disappointed. That is not something we can say about every destination on this list. The combination of Indian cultural familiarity, world-class water experiences, genuine safety, and exceptional food access for vegetarians makes Mauritius our most consistently successful destination across all traveller profiles. It is the destination we recommend first to women who tell us they are nervous about international travel.
Japan
Japan has a way of making you feel embarrassed about how you live — in the best possible sense. The cleanliness is not just physical; it is civic. Watching how Japanese people treat shared public spaces has changed how several of our travellers think about their own cities, their own neighbourhoods, their own daily choices. Use the luggage forwarding service between cities — it will change your trip. And give yourself more than one night in Kyoto. It is one of the few places on earth where the more slowly you move, the more you see.
Norway
Norway in a Nutshell is the best travel product in Europe. I have said this to every group I have taken there and I stand by it. The combination of the Flåm Railway, the Nærøyfjord boat, and the bus through the mountains is so well-designed that even the logistics feel like part of the experience. For Tromsø: pack heat patches in your luggage, not your carry-on. You will need them on the first night, and you will not have time to buy them after landing. Two nights minimum in Tromsø — Northern Lights require patience and the weather does not cooperate on schedule.
