Welcome to Kerala
Cochin sightseeingLand at Cochin International Airport — flights arriving by 11:30 am work best — where our trip leader will be waiting to welcome you and take you to the hotel in Fort Kochi. Check in, drop your bags and let it sink in: Tea Hills to Tides has officially begun. 🇮🇳
✨ TODAY’S MOOD
Land. Explore. Welcome to Kerala. The afternoon is all heritage. Walk along the harbour to watch the centuries-old Chinese fishing nets dip into the water exactly as they have for 500 years, then wander through the Naval Museum, St Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica and Mattanchery Palace with its striking Kerala murals.
💡 WHY TODAY IS EASY
It’s your first day in Kerala. Today you just need to arrive, settle in, and ease into Fort Kochi’s slow, salty charm.🏨 TONIGHT’S STAY
Fragrant Nature Cochin or similar, Kochi -
Roadtrip and sightseeing
After breakfast, set off on the drive to Munnar — around 4 hours winding up through the Western Ghats as the coastal flatlands give way to forest and tea country. Break the journey at the Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls, twin cascades tumbling right beside the highway.
✨ TODAY’S MOOD
Waterfalls, spice, and cooler air.Stop at an authentic Kerala Spice Garden, where cardamom, pepper, nutmeg and vanilla grow side by side, before continuing into Munnar. By the time you check in, the air has turned noticeably cooler — your first sign you’ve left the coast behind.
💡 WHY TODAY IS SCENIC
The drive itself is half the experience today — waterfalls, spice gardens and the Ghats rolling by are worth savouring, not rushing through.🏨 TONIGHT’S STAY
The Leaf Munnar or similar, Munnar -
Local exploration
A full day to explore the highlands, starting with Eravikulam National Park — home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr and tea plantations spilling down every hillside. Next, the Tea Museum, where you’ll see exactly how the leaves in your morning cup are grown and processed.
✨ TODAY’S MOOD
Green, as far as you can see.The afternoon takes in Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake with its own shikara rides, before the 2nd Mile Viewpoint and a quiet evening at the Botanical Garden to close out the day.
💡 WHY TODAY IS A FULL DAY
Munnar packs a lot into a small radius. Since there’s no onward drive today, we use the extra time to properly cover the hills instead of rushing past them.🏨 TONIGHT’S STAY
The Leaf Munnar or similar, Munnar -
Alleppey sightseeing
Drive 3 to 4 hours toward Alleppey, and watch the landscape change again — Kerala’s famous backwaters open up into a vast network of canals, lagoons and lakes where village life happens entirely on water.
✨ TODAY’S MOOD
Water, palms, and quiet. This afternoon is the Shikkara boat ride — a slow glide through the backwaters past coconut groves and paddy fields. Round off the day at the historic Alleppey Lighthouse, one of India’s oldest and still operational, and a walk on Alleppey Beach.
💡 WHY TODAY IS THE HIGHLIGHT
The Shikkara ride is the single most-requested moment of this trip. Everything else today is paced around giving it the time it deserves.🏨 TONIGHT’S STAY
Lake Canopy Alleppey or similar, Alleppey -
Kovalam sightseeing
Drive 4 to 6 hours toward Kovalam, depending on traffic, with a stop at the Jatayu Earth’s Centre in Chadayamangalam — a cable car ride up for panoramic views across the Western Ghats.
✨ TODAY’S MOOD
Cliffs, temples, and the sea at last.Next, the Azhimala Shiva Temple, dramatically positioned where the cliffs meet the sea. Arrive into Kovalam in time to soak in your first proper look at the Arabian Sea.
💡 WHY TODAY IS WORTH THE DRIVE
It’s the longest drive of the trip, but it’s also the one that takes you from backwaters to coastline — two stops along the way make sure it doesn’t feel like just a transit day.🏨 TONIGHT’S STAY
Travancore Heritage Kovalam or similar, Kovalam -
Group transfer to airport
A calm last morning. Breakfast at a relaxed pace, with some free time before checkout — no early starts today.
✨ TODAY’S MOOD
One last morning in Kerala.Visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple — one of the wealthiest and most sacred Vaishnava temples in India (dress code applies: covered, traditional attire). Then a group transfer to Trivandrum International Airport for flights home.
💡 WHY TODAY IS RELAXED
After five full days, the last morning is kept deliberately light — one meaningful stop, then home, with no rush to the airport.✈️ DEPARTURE
Book flights out of Trivandrum (TRV) departing after 6:00 pm

FAQs
- What are the female-only travel groups offered by Jugni?
- Discover the world of women's travel with Jugni, an innovative travel company for women in India. Since 2014, we have organised trips for solo female travellers who want to explore the world. We carefully plan unforgettable trips within India and abroad.
- What are solo travel groups?
- Solo travel groups comprise solo adventurers looking to explore a destination together. They offer a safety net and take the stress out of planning the trip and finding a place to stay.
- What is the typical group size?
- We keep our group sizes deliberately small, typically comprising 12-14 travellers, allowing us to deliver personalised and attentive service to each of our solo women travellers. Our groups may expand to 18-20 travellers in destinations with longstanding expertise.
- Is there any age bar?
- Age is no barrier to joining our adventurous Jugni family. Whether you're 22 or 60, your spirit is all that matters. Come and explore with us!
- I've never travelled alone, and I'm feeling a little anxious. Will I be able to do it?
- Feeling nervous before your trip is normal as a first-time solo woman traveller. But we are here to calm your nerves and assure you this will be a truly transformative experience where you'll build lifelong friendships.
- How do we ensure safety and security for our solo women travellers?
- As a company, we deeply understand the importance of safety for female travellers. That's why we take every possible measure to ensure our trips offer a safe and secure experience. We personally conduct background checks on every agent involved and visit each hotel to ensure your peace of mind.
- How are the group dynamics on trips?
- Our travellers often journey alone, although some come with female friends. Our accommodations are based on double occupancy unless otherwise requested, and we assign roommates at random to help solo travellers start forming connections from the beginning.
- Are visa fees and flights inclusive?
- Due to the diverse origins of our travellers, it is not feasible for us to include flights and visas. Nevertheless, we offer complete assistance with flight bookings and visa forms at no additional cost. For your understanding, all the rest of the inclusions and exclusions are mentioned explicitly in the itinerary.
- What type of accommodations can we expect to stay in?
- We put a lot of effort into handpicking our accommodations, either conveniently located 4-star hotels or cosy boutique stays. In more rural or remote areas, we love arranging authentic regional homestays to immerse you in the local experience. Just remember that some amenities may not be available at these homestays because of their remote locations.
- Can we arrange a single occupancy room?
- As a standard practice, we provide twin-sharing accommodation, allowing solo travellers to connect with the group. However, we can arrange for single occupancy upon special request and an additional charge.
- Is it okay if I bring my child with me?
- We welcome children over 12 years on our trips, and their trip cost equals that of adult travellers. The final decision is made after careful consideration, including location and trip type.
- Can I trust Jugni as a women-only travel company?
- For nearly a decade, Jugni has been a long-standing champion of solo women's travel and believes in empowering them to explore the world. With a perfect 5/5 Facebook rating and an impressive 4.9/5 Google rating from over 800 reviews, our commitment to transparency and no hidden costs ensures your peace of mind.
