Overview
Two cities. Two colours. One very Rajasthani story. 🐪
Some places you visit. Rajasthan, you feel — the heat rising off golden sandstone, the jingle of camel bells at sunset, the smell of kachoris frying in an old-city lane, and that moment when a fort appears on the horizon like something out of a storybook.
Jaisalmer & Jodhpur Desert Escape is our five-day, women only tour through the two most magical cities of western Rajasthan — Jaisalmer, the Golden City, and Jodhpur, the Blue City. Forts, havelis, desert dunes, stepwells, bazaars and rooftop views — all with a group of women who’ll feel like old friends by the time you leave.

Our first of two nights under the desert stars. -
Jaisalmer Fort · Havelis · Sam Sand Dunes · Desert camp nightOur second and final night in the desert.
-
Drive to Jodhpur · Blue City walk · Stepwell · Sardar Market
One last sunrise over the dunes, breakfast at camp — and then we swap gold for blue. 💙
We check out of the desert camp and leave for Jodhpur at around 8:00 AM. The drive across the Thar takes around 5–6 hours with stops — a chance to watch village life, desert scrub and the odd camel cart roll past the window.
🚐 ROAD TRIP ACROSS THE THAR
Music on, chai stops, desert views all the way.By the time we reach Jodhpur, the group playlist will be sorted and the inside jokes will have started. On arrival, we check into our hotel, freshen up and head straight into the old city.
💙 TODAY’S BIG MOMENT — LOST IN THE BLUE CITY
We wander through the narrow lanes of Navchowkiya, where house after house is painted in every shade of blue, with Mehrangarh Fort towering above. Every corner is a photo.Next, the beautiful Toorji Ka Jhalra — an 18th-century stepwell with perfectly symmetrical sandstone steps, now surrounded by cafés and boutiques.Yesterday, golden dunes. Today, blue lanes. Rajasthan doesn’t do boring. 💙As the evening comes alive, we head to the Clock Tower and the buzzing Sardar Market — spices, bandhani, leather juttis, silver and souvenirs. Don’t leave without trying a mirchi vada and a glass of makhaniya lassi.
We end the day at a rooftop café, with the lit-up fort and the old city glowing below. (Dinner on own.)
👑 TOMORROW
Royal Jodhpur — the mighty Mehrangarh Fort, the white-marble Jaswant Thada and the gardens of Mandore. 👑 -
Mehrangarh Fort · Jaswant Thada · Mandore Garden
After breakfast, it’s a royal kind of day — forts, marble and the gardens of Marwar’s old capital. 👑
We drive up the rocky hill to Mehrangarh Fort — one of the largest and grandest forts in India, rising sheer out of the cliff above the Blue City.
🏰 TODAY’S BIG MOMENT — MEHRANGARH FORT
Palaces inside a fort, and the whole Blue City at your feet.Walk through its massive gates and grand courtyards, explore the Fort Museum — royal palanquins, armoury, paintings and the mirror-work of Sheesh Mahal — and step out onto the ramparts for sweeping views over the blue houses below.Just a short drive away is Jaswant Thada, often called the “Taj Mahal of Marwar” — a white-marble cenotaph built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. The marble is so finely carved it glows in the sunlight, and the quiet gardens and small lake around it make it one of the most peaceful spots in Jodhpur.
🌿 MANDORE GARDEN — THE OLD CAPITAL
Before Jodhpur, there was Mandore — the former capital of Marwar. Today its gardens hold soaring red-sandstone cenotaphs of Jodhpur’s rulers, temples, memorials and old architecture surrounded by greenery. A beautiful place to slow down and soak up the history.A fort, a marble memorial and a lost capital — Jodhpur saved its best for today. 👑We return to the hotel in the afternoon. The evening is yours — rest, do some last-minute shopping in Sardar Market, or find one more rooftop café for a final Rajasthani meal with the group. (Dinner on own.)

FAQs
- What are the female-only travel groups offered by Jugni?
- Discover the world of women's travel with Jugni, an innovative travel company for women in India. Since 2014, we have organised trips for solo female travellers who want to explore the world. We carefully plan unforgettable trips within India and abroad.
- What are solo travel groups?
- Solo travel groups comprise solo adventurers looking to explore a destination together. They offer a safety net and take the stress out of planning the trip and finding a place to stay.
- What is the typical group size?
- We keep our group sizes deliberately small, typically comprising 12-14 travellers, allowing us to deliver personalised and attentive service to each of our solo women travellers. Our groups may expand to 18-20 travellers in destinations with longstanding expertise.
- Is there any age bar?
- Age is no barrier to joining our adventurous Jugni family. Whether you're 22 or 60, your spirit is all that matters. Come and explore with us!
- I've never travelled alone, and I'm feeling a little anxious. Will I be able to do it?
- Feeling nervous before your trip is normal as a first-time solo woman traveller. But we are here to calm your nerves and assure you this will be a truly transformative experience where you'll build lifelong friendships.
- How do we ensure safety and security for our solo women travellers?
- As a company, we deeply understand the importance of safety for female travellers. That's why we take every possible measure to ensure our trips offer a safe and secure experience. We personally conduct background checks on every agent involved and visit each hotel to ensure your peace of mind.
- How are the group dynamics on trips?
- Our travellers often journey alone, although some come with female friends. Our accommodations are based on double occupancy unless otherwise requested, and we assign roommates at random to help solo travellers start forming connections from the beginning.
- Are visa fees and flights inclusive?
- Due to the diverse origins of our travellers, it is not feasible for us to include flights and visas. Nevertheless, we offer complete assistance with flight bookings and visa forms at no additional cost. For your understanding, all the rest of the inclusions and exclusions are mentioned explicitly in the itinerary.
- What type of accommodations can we expect to stay in?
- We put a lot of effort into handpicking our accommodations, either conveniently located 4-star hotels or cosy boutique stays. In more rural or remote areas, we love arranging authentic regional homestays to immerse you in the local experience. Just remember that some amenities may not be available at these homestays because of their remote locations.
- Can we arrange a single occupancy room?
- As a standard practice, we provide twin-sharing accommodation, allowing solo travellers to connect with the group. However, we can arrange for single occupancy upon special request and an additional charge.
- Is it okay if I bring my child with me?
- We welcome children over 12 years on our trips, and their trip cost equals that of adult travellers. The final decision is made after careful consideration, including location and trip type.
- Can I trust Jugni as a women-only travel company?
- For nearly a decade, Jugni has been a long-standing champion of solo women's travel and believes in empowering them to explore the world. With a perfect 5/5 Facebook rating and an impressive 4.9/5 Google rating from over 800 reviews, our commitment to transparency and no hidden costs ensures your peace of mind. Providing direct links to our accommodations, we prioritise your comfort, safety, and security on every journey with Jugni.
