Before building one of India’s most loved women-only travel communities, Nitesh Chauhan was busy selling phones, colas, and big ideas. A Delhi University Economics graduate (who still insists MBA is an overpriced myth), Nitesh worked with some of India’s biggest brands — including Webchutney (a top digital agency), Micromax (once India’s leading mobile phone brand), and PepsiCo in Varanasi, a rare city where Pepsi had a 55%+ market share.
It was in Varanasi, while speaking to solo women travellers, that the idea of Jugni was born. Time and again, women would say: “I want to travel more, but it just doesn’t feel safe.” That one honest insight changed the course of his life.
