Arrival in Reykjavík
Hello, La La Ice Land 🇮🇸Land in Reykjavík, make your way to our hotel and settle into our first Icelandic base. Today isn’t about ticking places off a list — it’s about arriving, breathing in that crisp Icelandic air and realising that La La Ice Land has officially begun. 🇮🇸
✨ TODAY’S MOOD
Land. Layer up. Look around. We’re in Iceland. The rest of the day is deliberately easy. Freshen up, step outside, walk around Reykjavík, find something warm to drink or simply recover from the journey.
💡 WHY TODAY IS EASY
Because tomorrow Iceland starts showing off. Today, you just need to arrive properly. -
Where the Earth Is Still Alive 🌍
Today we head out on Iceland’s legendary Golden Circle — a day of tectonic plates, erupting geothermal water, thundering waterfalls and a rather unexpected greenhouse in the middle of Iceland.
🌍 TODAY’S MOOD
Earth moving. Water exploding. Iceland being Iceland.
📍 TODAY’S ICELAND
Þingvellir National Park — where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.
Geysir Geothermal Area — watch Strokkur erupt from the earth.
Gullfoss — one of Iceland’s most powerful and famous waterfalls.
Friðheimar — Iceland’s fascinating geothermal greenhouse experience.
💡 THE STRANGE THING ABOUT ICELAND
Today you can literally stand between continents, watch boiling water shoot out of the ground and then eat food grown using geothermal energy. And we’re only on Day 02. -
Iceland in Miniature 🏔️
Today we explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula — often called “Iceland in Miniature” because an extraordinary amount of the country seems to have been squeezed into one dramatic peninsula.
🏔️ TODAY’S MOOD
Mountains. Coastline. Lava fields. Stop asking Iceland to pick a personality. This is a full day outside Reykjavík, travelling through some of western Iceland’s wildest scenery with the glacier-capped Snæfellsjökull volcano dominating the peninsula.
💡 WHY SNÆFELLSNES?
Because Iceland isn’t only about the famous Golden Circle and South Coast. Snæfellsnes gives us another side of the country — wilder, quieter and wonderfully dramatic. -
A Day Made of Ice & Diamonds 🧊
Today is a big one. We journey towards Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where enormous pieces of ancient ice break away from the glacier and drift silently through the lagoon towards the Atlantic.
🧊 TODAY’S MOOD
Today, ice gets the starring role.
📍 TODAY’S EXPERIENCE
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon — floating icebergs beneath one of Europe’s great glaciers.
Diamond Beach — pieces of glacial ice scattered across volcanic black sand.
💡 THE NAME MAKES SENSE WHEN YOU GET THERE
Chunks of thousand-year-old glacial ice wash onto a completely black beach and catch the light like enormous diamonds.Iceland doesn’t do subtle very often. -
Waterfalls, Black Sand & the Road to Vík 🖤
Today we change bases — but this isn’t a transfer day. Our journey from Reykjavík to Vík becomes a road trip through Iceland’s spectacular South Coast.
🚐 TODAY’S MOOD
Waterfalls first. Black beach later. Suitcases somewhere behind us.
📍 THE ROAD TO VÍK
Seljalandsfoss — one of Iceland’s most recognisable waterfalls.
Skógafoss — powerful, enormous and very difficult to photograph without getting mist on something.
Reynisfjara — Iceland’s famous volcanic black-sand beach.
Vík — our second Icelandic base.
⚠️ A SERIOUS NOTE ABOUT REYNISFJARA
The Atlantic here is beautiful but powerful. We respect all safety barriers and warnings and never turn our backs on the waves for a photograph.
💡 WHY WE SLEEP IN VÍK
Because driving back to Reykjavík just to say we stayed in one hotel makes no sense. Vík puts us right where tomorrow’s adventure begins. -
Fire & Ice — Literally 🧊🌋
If there is one day that explains Iceland’s nickname “The Land of Fire and Ice”, this is probably it. We start with the ice. Then Iceland turns up the heat.
🧊 + 🌋 TODAY’S MOOD
Walk inside the ice. Then watch lava flow. Normal Iceland Tuesday.
🧊 KATLA ICE CAVE
We head out to experience the extraordinary world of Katla’s natural ice caves — formed inside the glacier covering one of Iceland’s most powerful volcanic systems.
🌋 THEN COMES THE FIRE
Later, we experience the Lava Show in Vík — where real molten lava lets us see, hear and feel the volcanic force that continues to shape Iceland.
💡 FIRE + ICE
Morning: inside a glacier.
Later: standing near molten lava.Try explaining this day to someone back home without sounding like you’re making it up. -
Back to Reykjavík 🇮🇸
After two nights in Vík, today we make our way back towards Reykjavík. The dramatic South Coast slowly disappears behind us as we return to the capital for the final chapter of La La Ice Land.
🚐 TODAY’S MOOD
Back to Reykjavík — but Iceland isn’t finished with us yet.Once back in Reykjavík, check in and enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace. After the last few adventure-heavy days, there is nothing wrong with a long shower, a good meal and doing absolutely nothing ambitious.
💡 BACK TO BASE
This is why we built Iceland around only two bases. We get the South Coast experience without turning the entire trip into packing, unpacking and changing hotels every night. -
By Day, Reykjavík. By Night, We Chase the Sky 🌌
-
Goodbye, La La Ice Land ✈️
One last Icelandic morning before we check out and begin our journey home.
✈️ TODAY’S MOOD
Suitcase heavier. Phone full. Definition of “beautiful” permanently recalibrated.Nine days ago we arrived in a country we knew through photographs. Since then, we’ve stood beside waterfalls, crossed volcanic landscapes, walked on black sand, watched icebergs float through a glacier lagoon, stepped into the world of Katla and gone looking for green skies.
💛 FROM TEAM JUGNI

- What are solo travel groups?
- Solo travel groups comprise solo adventurers looking to explore a destination together. They offer a safety net and take the stress out of planning the trip and finding a place to stay.
- What is the typical group size?
- We keep our group sizes deliberately small, typically comprising 12-14 travellers, allowing us to deliver personalised and attentive service to each of our solo women travellers. Our groups may expand to 18-20 travellers in destinations with longstanding expertise.
- Is there any age bar?
- Age is no barrier to joining our adventurous Jugni family. Whether you're 22 or 60, your spirit is all that matters. Come and explore with us!
- I've never travelled alone, and I'm feeling a little anxious. Will I be able to do it?
- Feeling nervous before your trip is normal as a first-time solo woman traveller. But we are here to calm your nerves and assure you this will be a truly transformative experience where you'll build lifelong friendships.
- How do we ensure safety and security for our solo women travellers?
- As a company, we deeply understand the importance of safety for female travellers. That's why we take every possible measure to ensure our trips offer a safe and secure experience. We personally conduct background checks on every agent involved and visit each hotel to ensure your peace of mind.
- How are the group dynamics on trips?
- Our travellers often journey alone, although some come with female friends. Our accommodations are based on double occupancy unless otherwise requested, and we assign roommates at random to help solo travellers start forming connections from the beginning.
- Are visa fees and flights inclusive?
- Due to the diverse origins of our travellers, it is not feasible for us to include flights and visas. Nevertheless, we offer complete assistance with flight bookings and visa forms at no additional cost. For your understanding, all the rest of the inclusions and exclusions are mentioned explicitly in the itinerary.
- What type of accommodations can we expect to stay in?
- We put a lot of effort into handpicking our accommodations, either conveniently located 4-star hotels or cosy boutique stays. In more rural or remote areas, we love arranging authentic regional homestays to immerse you in the local experience. Just remember that some amenities may not be available at these homestays because of their remote locations.
- Can we arrange a single occupancy room?
- As a standard practice, we provide twin-sharing accommodation, allowing solo travellers to connect with the group. However, we can arrange for single occupancy upon special request and an additional charge.
- Is it okay if I bring my child with me?
- We welcome children over 12 years on our trips, and their trip cost equals that of adult travellers. The final decision is made after careful consideration, including location and trip type.
